Problem with B26 Guns

After going through 2 stock repairs and tuning both guns I found that all 3 of my B26 stocks have a problem where the trigger guard rests in the stock. The ledge that the guard rests on collapses and allows the guard to sink in too far and not hold tight. What I had to do was take some 5 minute epoxy and let it set to gel and build it up a little then I stuck a piece of thin smooth hard plastic over the build up. I let it set for about an hour then peeled back the plastic leaving a real nice smooth finish. Then took a dremil to even out the ledge once done this surface is much better and harder than the original seat.

If you have one that hasn't sunk yet, use a little flour mixed with acetone then spread it on the bare wood and let it dry. This should suck out any oil thats there and dry it out a bit. dust off all the "whiting" then liberally soak that part of the stock with thin super glue. I used thin Cyano Acrylate from hobby shop. After an overnight cure, that spot should be hard as a rock! This works for the stock screw holes too.

Great tip! I will see about doing that to my guns asap. Just need to pick up some acetone.
