Cometa and Triggers
« on: May 17, 2010, 01:03:35 PM »
We are the Cometa airgun distributor for the USA and Canada.

Although disappointing to hear of a customer having problems with our triggers, the problem is more of how trigger adjustments are being made.

The Cometa Fenix and Fusion rifles both have fully adjustable 2-stage triggers. These triggers have a minimum pressure requirement of just under 2 pounds. However, if the trigger is adjusted too lightly, the gun will fail to cock.

Should this ever happen, the fix is very easy. Turn the tiny adjustment screw 1/2 turn clockwise and press/depress the trigger several times - this resets the trigger. Repeat as necessary until the gun cocks.

For any other questions, please contact us.

James, unfortunatly that was not the case with the new 400 I had bought back early last year. I am familiar with the adjustment being to light and it is also a safety hazard. My gun was shooting just fine and the all of a sudden it would not fully cock every time. First thing I checke was the adjustmen. That was not it with mine. I ended up buying a new trigger assymbly from TF Chambers in the UK. Worked just fine when I put her in..:) The gun sure was beautiful and Cometa has done a fine job with the wood stocks.
THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

Pardon me for intruding however i also have a cometa fenix 400 from last year end of may and honestly i love there accuratecy ,power, noise level, stock, shootin cycle but i m havin the same problem.I to went through an adjustment period in the trigger area and same problem with the cocking .I untightened all screws and did process again but i didnt mess with the action at all so i wouldnt have other problems but i will have to purchase a trigger from someone that would help me .Right now its cockin but i dont want any incidents so i will wait until sometime in july to get it repair which will cost more money and i dont mind but it would be nice if someone in the company could help in this situation or find other solutions .Thanks for your time..
