The 392 is a pretty decent gun.Easy to work on,rugged, and you can plink on 3-4 pumps without too much noise.Based on the 390 series guns I've seen, the 392's have somewhat oversize bores with shallow rifling,so finding a pellet that get's the most out of the gun can involve some testing.German pellets and jsbs are good place to start.I've had a couple in the shop that would usualy hit the 1" spinner at 45 yards with a 4X shotgun scope. The 397's are less picky about pellets, the bores are tighter,it seems.
If you think you want power, get the Mac1 billet lever, makes the gun feel twice as solid ,and will last forever.Buy yhe gun, shoot it awhile ,and then have some work done if you like the gun.Pumpers aren't everybodies favorite type.
