Crow Magnum Hollow point Results
« on: May 25, 2007, 01:59:59 PM »
last night I decided to give them the big test, The first shot was at about 20 to 25 meters right between the eyes .177 only one shot needed.

The second was at about the same distance we both fired at the same time thats all it took .177 Crow Mag and something in .22 this rather messy though.

we took over 1kg of fur last night allso a turkey that I preped for the freezer this morning plus a couple of peahens we ran down a rabbit and possum on the drive as well hehe.
but the hilight of my night was shooting a possum at a downward angle at about 80 to 100 meters and hitting the bugger in the head might have been a luckey shot but Im sold these are a No.1 pellet choice for hunting.

Great shooting Sean and good pics.. What is it about the Crow mags in .22 and .177 that you think are a better hunting pellet than the Preditors? Just curious and would like to hear it first hand from and experienced hunter..

Thanks again for sharing with us Sean

ok the .22 gun that was used wernt Crow Mags just the .177 and it's just the mass expansion they seem to produce on impact and the fact that the Shadow seems to love them all I use now are RWS Super Domes & the Crow Magnum pellets in my GAMO guns if they work stick with them I say especiall if they are dead accurate.

That's some great shootin Sean, pics are super also.  Those crow magnum hollow points are very effective pellets for sure.  I have quite a few guns that like them and I have used them to take game and they've worked well.  Keep up the good work   :)

I think you know I have a Gamo 1250 Hunter .22, Sean.. It is a power house.. I would put it up against any RWS 350 or 460... hehe I know you could tame the 1250...:) When I first got it, I set up a 3/8" plywood target out at 50 yard marker. It was a 12" wide and I could hit within a 3" area consistantly with 14.9 grn RWS Superdomes.. It chronied with those pellets in the high 900 fps.. Never figuered out the fpe.. It is very hard for me to cock and it weights about 10 lbs with a scope..:) Allot to lug around compared to an S1K.. I do not know what the Magnum RWS 350 or 460 weigh but probably around the same, I would think.. The guys here on the GTA favor the RWS 350's and 460's and I probably can understand why.. Gamo does not service the .1250 with parts here. CDT has not found a good spring yet to replace the 1250 spring or even other parts.. Where as the RWS's seem to service what they sell here in the states..:) But the 1250 is a great shooter and lots of power..

I can attest to Genes comments about the 1250 .22 cal,,,, I also have one and it's a real power house.  I use mine exclusively for hunting, to hard to cock to do target shooting with, and it is an awesome hunter.  I also think it's one of the nicest looking Gamos.

Ed, I wish we lived closer,,,,, I'd love to lend you my 1250 so you could take it out to P-Dog city.  You would really have a blast with this monster !!  Those P-dogs wouldn't know what hit em :)   and being the hunter that you are I know that after the first shot with the 1250 you'd be putting the gun down and running to your computer to find an order button to pound down  :)

The gun truly is awesome.......  kills my rotator cuff joints though :(  otherwise I'd shoot it more than I do
