UPS just dropped off my new Gamo Hunter 440
« on: August 07, 2007, 04:45:47 AM »
YEAH!!!!!! It is here! (doing the springer dance!)

My new Gamo Hunter 440 just showed up and I opened the box and pulled out a great looking looking rifle. I am definitely impressed and the price from Natchez was absolutely unbelieveable!

I just installed my Tasco 44 Mag scope on it. This thing looks awesome! I wish I had my camera with me.

I'm pretty sure your gonna like it Ron. Might need to do a little touch-up on it but they are a good gun. Be sure that the stock screws are tight though and pull a few patches through it to clean the shoot chute once you put a few pellets through it.

....... I have no self control. I couldn't help myself. I pushed the button on the CDT website.

I am sure I will no longer be ashamed when that trigger arrives in my mailbox!

Bob, I am gonna give one of these triggers a try. If I like it, I will buy 2 more (one for my S1K and the other for my CFX)

Thanks for pushing me over the edge,  guys (and gals, too!) :)

Ditto from one who just installed his second GRT-III on the brother of your new 440, Ron. I had a chance yesterday evening to put the new trigger in mine, cause I wanted to shoot it a few times first with the factory trigger. "Not bad", I thinks as I was putting the first dozen or two pellets through it, but the feel of the new trigger is like night and day. I have to say, I can't imagine having a Gamo without a GRT-III.

Again, great job on a great product, Bob!!!

Well, last night I got together with my good buddy, Josh and my son, Jon. We sighted the new 440 with my Tasco 44 Mag scope at 25 yards and plinked a few targets. I was very satisfied with the rifle, particularly the features it has above and beyond my SK1. I really like the scope mount which allows me to use the pin on the scope stop to thwart scope creep. I also like the steel trigger guard as opposed to the plastic one on my SK1. Cocking it is a bit raspy and I think a good de-burr is in order on the cocking mechanism. The finish of the stock is very nice.

Well, after we started putting up dime-sized patterns with 4-5 shots, Josh spied a tree rat. I relenquished the rifle to our host and he dropped it with a head shot. So, the 440 is on the board!

Bob, I look forward to installing your new GRT-III, although the trigger in my 440 seems to be less of a pain in the backside than the one in my SK1.

I will return with pics and a full report!

Ron
