But that one is MINE :-)! Outstanding work, Dan, can't wait to get my hands (and Talon) on it. Jason, re: stain vs. paint, I don't know if you've done much wood working, but it can be a real PITA to get a truly black stain on wood. I've managed it with maple and waterproof black india ink, but it takes some work. Poplar is a great choice in this sort of application, like Dan said, it's easy to work, strong, and very stable, but the grain is boring at best, and the color variations can be a real bear. So it's almost always used as paint grade stock, or as structure in places that don't show.
David (I think) mentioned flex. These guns do flex, but I agree, it's mostly from being heavy handed. I get the best results if I relax and handle mine like a springer. Dan's new grip will address one of the only 2 issues I have with mine, which is the fit of the pistol grip. The only other thing that still bothers me a little is the long second stage trigger pull. But I'm sure someone will come up with a mod to address it, if they haven't already. Later.
