I managed to get some shots in today over the chrony and take some pictures between thundershowers. I bought this rifle to see the difference in my Hunter Carbine and the MarkIII ;which is the winningest springer made; in field target . (Not my words) I love the HC so much, I couldn't imagine something better. The first thing I noticed ( after the beautiful walnut stock and excellent fit and finish) was that the rifle was heavy but not as front heavy to me as others have said. The gun naked weighs in at 9lbs 8oz. This is going to be a target gun, not a carry around all day and shoot squirrels, although with a sling , it wouldn't be that bad. I had shot a little over 125 shots through her yesterday and last night. My first shot through the chrony today went 910.1fps with JSB 8.4g. The next two were over 1200 fps . Can we say just a little bit of dieseling? With the forth shot she settled down and shot 938.1fps. I finished shooting 20 shots and with dropping the the second and third shot , she shot a low of 909.1fps and a high of 956.0fps. These numbers are way higher than I expected and want . hopefully they will come down some when she's broken in more and be a little closer too. After shooting about sixty shots today, I shot some 10 shot groupings with different pellets to see what they would do. I wound up shooting over 100 shots .Some of the groupings included : CPL's 7.9g.- high 969.6fps, - low 948.9fps ; RWS Superdomes .high -971.1fps, low 952.3fps ( didn't group as well as the others at 20 yards) Beeman Kodiaks,- high 850.1fps, low 832.6fps , then I went back to the JSB's for 10 more and they were , high 941.4fps, low 913.3fps. I could see her leveling out a little after 225 shots had been through her. I would guess a couple hundred more and she'll settle in. The trigger is 3-way adjustable for weight, length of travel of the first stage and position of pull off point. I'm still tinkering with it . The force needed to cock the gun is less or seems to be less than that of the carbine, mainly because of the longer cocking lever. I had no problem shooting over 100 shots today and could have shot more. I'll do some group shooting from the sitting position and report on that later . Right now it's storming again outside. kirby
