Mike's stock duplicator
« on: October 20, 2007, 06:24:34 AM »
seems like forever ive been working on this for Mike..in reality actual time was about 6 hours...anyway heres mikes new toy..its not pretty yet (needs paint job still) but all the grunt work is done.i'm not sure of the exact width or lenght..i'll leave that up to mike.

its made from square alum tubing with pressed in teflon slides right/left back/forth.

i did a little change to the tracer rod.it's adjustable up/down and in/out...for those cuts when you need to make slight adjustments..i think that will help the final outcome.

and just another view..you can see the semi square cut teflon slides...and man is it a dream to move.

if you see something i have over looked please let me know now..before i send it home.:)

Looks like it will work just fine, Paul. Now all I gotta do is learn how to use it,hehe. Should be able to cut the time it takes to make a stock way down.
Thanks again,Mike

A small router with various bits, 1/4" spiral for the bulk of the material.

Great Job Paul,

I have seen these stock replicators at work, the old ones ran on a worm gear like a lathe, they turnedthe sample rifle at the same time as the other blanksat the same time as the router or milling heads moved in and out to rough cut the stock. but these were for large production of the same stocks.

The one I have seen today do one stock at a time, and the sample stock turns the blank stock by way of a gear the back of each stock connected by a gear chain. it turned each stock in relationship withone another.

I can't wait to see the results, as airgun stocks a far more difficult to inletthan those of powder burners..

Kind of got put on the back burner, but was supposed to be shipped a few weeks ago. Phone calls unanswered, as well as emails, so maybe we can all find out together.

Thanks Paul, I know you have had alot on your plate lately and I hope your Dad is ok. I think the last time I talked to you was Jan.20 and it was going to be shipped that week. I was beginning to think it may have gotten lost in shipping. You've got a stock coming for your trouble, so let me know which action you want it for.

G1, Quest, CFX, or Shadow. Which one you want a stock for? I don't have a G1, but have access to a Quest, if you get a chance check to see if the stocks will interchange.

I figured that since you wouldn't let me reimburse you for your time and shipping, I had to do something.
