This is not mine, but I had a chance to shoot and open one up yesterday,so I thought I would pass along my thoughts. I first made a few shots and it was actualy a nice shooter, I think it has about 500pellets through it. There was a little twang and cocking was very smooth, considering the chinese machining and mystery oil. I opened her up to find that it has a rolled metal 2peice spring guide, that actualy fit the spring. There was almost no lube inside at all, but that's about to be taken care of. The seal is leather and was very dry, I have been using a baseball glove leather conditioner on my B-3 seal since '96, with no problems and this one received the same treatment. I also put several wraps of plumbers teflon tape around the seal insert, to snug it up alittle. There were a few small burs around the cocking slot that were addressed, did my quick trigger polish and it was time to reassemble. I lubed her up with some moly, silicone dielectric grease and put her back together. I was only able to get about 20 shots lastnight before it got dark, but she responded very well to her little treatment and I think the owner will be pleased. The only china gun that I have to compare it to is the B-3 and there is no comparison. This QB-88 was almost as smooth as a deburred, lubed B-3 out of the box and with alittle work is alot better. I think I'm gonna have to slip one past the wife, south summit has them for 49.95 right now.
