Back in November I bought one of what I thinkwas the last HW 50s sold by Pyramyd Air. I think it is a Weihrauch distributed by Beeman. PeakChick would know the history and hope she might give all of us a lesson here...
Well I was not impressed by the way it shot at first but the overall exterior build was of very high quality. I only have two or three other air rifles of this quality out of my 30 or so springers...

So I set it aside and waited for a drooper mount part number 260 that I ordered from BKL. They are approximately $55.00 but are bullet proof mounts. It took a couple weeks or so to get it because they did not have any more in production at that time. I waited and got side tracked with my TF-89..:)When lookin over the HW50s at first everything was high end from the front sight with globe to rear site with excellent adjustment features. The deep blueing, the nice metal trigger and triggerguardand finely finished wood stock with a very nice chocolate brown rubber butt pad that blends very well into the stock. Weihrauch has done an excellent job on Quality Control with the HW50s.
Yesterday I finally had enough daylight left to mount the BKL mount and one of my Simmons ProAir 6-18X40 AO Truplex Scopes on her. FYI that model is no longer available. I set up my first target at 20 yards to get it scoped. Well I just took a few clicks down and maybe 8 clicks to the left and she was shooting dead on. I moved the target back to 30 yards and started shooting for the spot I had made... Approx.2" with black magic marker. I also must mention that when I first bought the HW 50s and fired it, that it was very twangy and buzzed. My first shot yesterday was the same and it went off like a .22 powder burner....

and that took by surprise. Well after about 60 to 80 pellets later she smoothed out some and I was getting very comfortable shooting her. The trigger was a bit on the hard side but worked ok. I adjusted the trigger down to about 3 lbs of pull and off I went..

I ended up pushing another 50 or so pellets through her...hehe.
I took a liking to this German Winch real quick...

With less than 200 pellets through her I am really exceptionally pleased with the over all look, feel, metal blueing, wood and the accuracy of the HW 50s out of the box. I know that I have to pull the stock and look and see what if any lube the factory used and then will probably tear her down and see what she is packing under that shiny coat..

I know now that she is a keeper and will fit well in my harem of ladies.....

If anyone has any questions just ask.
