DISCLAIMER: this is garage-driveway airgun sugery. this is my own cure for the cfx's loading problem. works on my cfx's but don't blame me for any defects if you goof up.
I didn't even want to touch this part of the rifle but i just had to being a tinkerer and all. when ever i used any pellets (rws- superH/super sharps, beeman- crowmagnuns/silverstings/ramjets, jsb- predators), that were slightly longer or the squirts of the pellets were fleered more than the cheaper pellets(daisy, crosman, gamo), i would always have to nudge it in with my thumb nail or use a pen to push it in, usually distorting the squirt. plus after 100 pellets, thumb didn't feel so good. so i it took a close look at the breech and chamber hole oneday. not just that it(breech trough) doesn't align with the chamber hole when opened all the way, it's also slightly elevated from the hole. i figured if i shaved just 1mm off the trough's U-edge it would give me at least another 2mm of diameter space to play with.
i do a lot of rat shooting at night using a red beam spotlight or night vision scope. the spot light burn battery juice fast so its only good for 1 straight hour of use. so the scope is the other option, its easy to see the rodents through a scope but the pitch black of night makes it hard to distinguish wich way the pellet in between your fingers is facing after it has rolled in the trough becuase it didn't quite fit the hole and deflected off. this helped the pellet to go in the hole easier without it having to rub and be smashed while loading at a faster speed than the norm. plus it eliminated the need to always make sure that the breech must align with the hole because of the extra 2mm of space.
explaination of 2mm space gained with 1mm of honing off the trough. the trough is a U shape. it has two sides held together by an concave arch. each side is minus 1mm. thats 2mm total extra space across the trough. really its 3mm but the arch is for the trough to be leveled with the bottom of the loading chambers hole .
