Sitting at the computer with steam coming out my ears
« on: March 22, 2008, 02:44:08 AM »
I'm so PO'ed at the moment I need to vent .   I ordered a stock from a certain stock maker and filled out my on line order to have the stock sent to someone who would inlet it for me. I ever printed out an order detail sheet that shows everything correct. Last night , after everyone had closed for the week!! , I get confirmation from UPS that the billing had been received and would be shipped to the wrong place........  to me at my town and zip ....but at the wrong street address, the street address of the person I wanted it shipped to.  So, this morning I go to the UPS store that normally opens at 9am on weekdays , but when I arrived at 9:15 , I find they don't open until 10am on Saturday . No problem , I'll chill in the parking lot and get this taken care of when they open. They open up and I'm first in line to be told that they couldn't do anything for me there , I would have to call this customer no service number . I get home , call the number and after 5  minutes with the automated  system  , I finally get to talk to this sweet talking voice , that after hearing what my problem was ...... told me there's nothing they can do about my package until after the first delivery attempt .  WOW do do I feel helpless. What about all that advertising they do  about being able to intercept packages and  customer service.   I was told the only one that can do anything with the package while in shipment is the shipper ; Who happens to be closed until 10am Monday central time. BTW , I've searched their web-sight and they don't have an email address that I could email and give them the heads up on the mistake. I feel a little better now after sitting here typing this out. Sometimes things are just not meant to be, I guess. kirby  :0

Don't feel so bad Kirby. :0  At least it's still in one piece. :o  I've got a stock that I made for my S1K, that had the irons removed. I had shot it a few times while I was adjusting the fit of the stock. Well I put the irons back on, for some reason a while back. I decided that since the stock has a nice coat of oil on it now, I would put it on and shoot it. The stock was inlet for the action without the irons, yep you guessed it the rear site hit the side of the forearm and busted the site and the stock. :0  I hope this makes you feel better. 8)

But now I'm thinking it's just not meant for me to get this stock . I thought I would let you in on the other players in this little nightmare . LOL I ordered the stock from Boyds Gun Stocks . I was really shocked to see one in stock when I checked and if you have ever ordered from Boyds; you'll know what I mean . I used their new (to me anyways) on line ordering system; filling out the profile and creating an account . Somebody," there", messed up the address that the stock is supposed to go to , and the only way to get in touch with them is by telephone during "their" business hours . Anyways , I called them Monday , explained the situation and after convincing them I had an order detail I had printed off after ordering , that would prove "I" had entered the correct information; the gentleman said he would turn the information over to to their shipping dept. and they would issue an intercept with UPS and get the stock sent to the correct address. Today I check the tracking information from UPS , and they did the intercept , at the hub less than 10 miles from my house , but now they have it going to a town in NE Georgia when it should be headed to SE Georgia. Well they got the right state anyway. Hehe. I double checked the zip, and I gave them the right one , I don't know how it got changed wrong again. It's becoming comical . I called Boyds again today and got voice mail that said they would be back in touch with me within the next 48 hours. LOL. By that time there's no telling where it'll be . I don't see how some places stay in business. kirby

That sounds about right, gotta go back to the states main terminal, before they send it to the right place. I pulled mine apart today, got lucky, it wasn't busted as bad as I thought it was. I clamped it up with some gorilla glue and I think it is going to be ok. :)

I hope your stock turns out OK for you Mike., I'm not so sure of mine. The main terminal is Doraville here in Ga. The little town it's headed to, is Trion , Ga. ; a little town I'd never heard of that's only about 350+miles from Woodbine where it's supposed to be going. I got a call back from Boyds , they are trying to say it's UPS's fault and problem . I tried to explain to him I didn't care who is at fault , deliver the stock or refund me my money. I also tried to explain , UPS will listen to me and provides me with information about the shipment ,but will not change anything for me, the shipper has to do that. kirby

I've ordered from Boyds before, didn't have any problems, but they shipped pretty slow as I recall.  Hope it all works out for you Dave, sounds like a real pain in the pooper.

I pulled it out of the clamps and it's going to be fine. If they can't get yours headed the right direction, let me know which gun you wanted it for and I'll see what I can whittle up, for you. 8)

Thanks Mike , It's been redirected again by UPS . Maybe it'll be the right address this time. It was going to be sort of a surprise . I'm having a Ross Thumbhole in Nutmeg Laminate fitted for my Crosman Discovery . Hopefully it'll all work out. kirby

And...... they loaded it up and it's on it's way to Trion , it made it to Dalton (North Georgia) and says it's out for delivery. LOL Maybe the delivery guy going drive it 350 miles south . haha . with my luck there's probably a street with the same name in Trion and somebody will get them an uninletted stock for free. I hope they do and they can use it. kirby  :)
