Hehe, well they don't shoot anything, unless I guess you could wrap a rubber band on the end of the barrel, pull it back, release!!! I made a few sets of grips and ran out of guns to put them on, around the same time I had been talking with Steve Corcoran about another project I wanted to make in wood(more on that in the future), anyways, long story short I had these grips, and I was getting ready to go meet Steve for the first time. I had already told him about the grips I was making and offered him a set. I decided to give him the grips, attached to a wooden gun(which is a bit like the original project I had been talking about). So I gave him the gun, the grips, etc...and Joel Lively(airgunartisans.com), Steve and I had a long day of shooting, it was a blast and we took some pictures(I posted them here a few months ago). One of those pictures showed the original wooden gun I had made, and of course there were a couple of people that wanted one also. I picked a couple people that I thought deserved them, and decided to make theirs, but have no plans to make anymore in the future. They are VERY time consuming, and I mean VERY time consuming. I destroyed no less than 4 sets of grips, and 4 grip frames before I got 2 good sets of grips and 5 more grips frames(just in case). I have one more gun, about 60-70% finished sitting on my bench which is also spoken for. I think if I had to sell these things, to even make back $5 an hour it would cost someone a couple hundred bucks...and I don't feel the finished product warrants that kind of cash. So I will end with 4 total wooden "2240Dubya" guns. I may at some point make another, but I really want to make some other gun, the 2240 is starting to bore me to tears. Someone asked about a 1377/1322 on the Crosman forum, I might make one of those if I ever get a 1377 or 1322 gun to model off from. I think the barrel band would kick my butt, but it would be fun. Would LOVE to do a full rifle, like an Air Arms or something like that, but I think the cost of wood for the stock would choke that idea..not to mention the cost of the gun I'd need to model it:) Thinking a little about doing a QB also, I love mine, but doubt the stock will look as nice as the one Steve made me.... Got any ideas of something that would be cheap to woodenize?
