My new and first Condor.
« on: November 10, 2008, 02:08:04 PM »
I have ordered Condor from Tony a some time ago and here it is!!! FedEx truck brought me this long waited rifle. I ordered shroud and Tony custom made hammer for this beauty. It shoots so hard I can't believe it. I shot it in the garage without the shroud and I had noise ringing in my ears for long time. I did it to see the difference with the shroud. I put it on and it is very quiet. I experemented with different pellets and I think only Eun Jins are not going supersonic. I do not have a chrony but Eun Jins are very quiet but Kodiaks are kind of louder. Then I put the JSB 14.3 gr. and I heard very loud crack- yep.. supersonic.
I knew I am going to shoot it a lot so I figured I will buy CO2 adapter and use paintball tank. It work fine and I shot a lot of rounds with lighter pellets.
I actually very happy with this gun so far. I heard different reviews about it some good some not but I personally really love it. I hope in the near future I will get .25 caliber barrel.
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures.

It looks good to me . I have one that is suppose to be delivered tomorrow . A stocker from P.A. I ordered the micro tank with mine so I would not have to deal with CO 2 . Keep us informed as to how it shoots .Marvin

Thank you guys. I tried to sight it in with the low profile mount first but I have run out of up and down adjustment pretty fast. So I had to use adjustable high profile mount and it works very nicely.
I filled it up till 3000psi and shot it to sightit in and after about 11 shots it start to pick up more power. I used Eun Jins and I started to even feel recoil. Pretty powerfull gun. It looks like 2800psi is the best pressure for it. As I said, I do not own chrony but it feels like PW adjustment doesn't do much, but maybe I am mistaken. I should get chronograph one of these days.

I like it a lot. It is so far my favorite gun.  The  only other PCP I had was Evanix and I loved it very much too but had to let it go because of the noise. This Condor is such a flexible rifle. I bought 12" barrel for it and it became TSS and I like it's compact size. And for more power  I like my 24" barrel. Just somehow my 12" barrel is much more accurate then 24" barrel. It has alot of flyers sometimes.  I shot 50 rounds on one fill with 12" berrel 40 yards out and they all went through 1" curcle. But with 24" they go all over. Maybe the shroud makes the pellets clip. Something I have to figure out. Otherwise I love it.

Do you have a chrony? You might be going super sonic.  What pellets are you using with the 24" barrel? Try the 24" barrel with the shroud off and use Beeman Kodiaks and please let me know your results. I doubt you are clipping with a Tony shroud. Have you looked through the shroud?

Yes, I doubt that I clip with that shroud as well cuz I did look through the barrel trying to check for clipping and it was fine. I shoot with Kodiaks mostly but I bought like 7 tins of Eun Juns cuz I heard they are pretty good. They do shoot OK but that is the pellet that has the most flyers. I use them with 24" barrel cuz it has more power to push those heavy pellets. But what personally think couses this inaccuracy is that when I pump it up to 3K it dousn't open the valve well- valve lock I guess. When pressure drops it goes into it's sweet spot and it shoots OK. But with Eun Jins it uses alot of air pretty fast. So I pump it up till 2750 PSI and it  shoots somewhat OK with Kodiaks. But I will try without shroud as you saggested.
Thank you

Try PW setting 5 with kodiaks and a 2600psi fill and tell me how your accuracy is then.  Using a 2600psi fill and PW 5 I get sub inch groups at 55 yards on a windy day.
