Alright, just a summary of what I have been able to ascertain from various posts and web sights so far about the 0.22 versions of these rifles:
Price:
Marauder: $500
S10 Blizzard: $660
Muzzle Energy:
Marauder Energy: 30 ft lbs
S10 Blizzard Energy: 45 ft lbs
Accuracy:
Marauder: same-hole out to 35 yards; subjective based on shooter ability
S10 Blizzard: same-hole out to 35 yards; subjective based on shooter ability
Noise:
If the reports that the Marauder is a 1 on a scale of 10, then the Blizzard seems to come in as a 2, slightly noisier, but about the same noise level as the AA S410 in 0.22
Power Adjustments/Fill Sweet Spot Info:
Marauder: high-pressure sweet spot is about 2800 Lbs on a 3000 Lb fill setting. Setting can be changed to allow a fill pressure of 2000 Lbs with about a 30-shot string
S10 Blizzard: Rated at 200 bar or 2900 lbs, sweet spot seems to be at 2700 lbs with about a 35 shot string
Fill Port:
Marauder: Male Foster connector on end of reservoir
S10 Blizzard: Fill probe port that accommodates a double o-ring fill probe - would require a male foster adapter to work with existing Female Foster high pressure pumps.
Tune-ability: If the Marauder is anything like the Discovery, a little TLC and hammer weight polishing can flatten out the velocity curve over the range of shots, similar to the B51. Unknown what could be done to the S10 Blizzard at this time. I do note that based on other posts, the S10 has a somewhat chopy velocity curve, but tends to stay within 15 fps of the mean velocity over its shot range.
Blizzard is a longer rifle with a longer trigger pull length than the Marauder, trigger on the Blizzard is not adjustable for pull force and rates in at about 2# trigger is adjustable for length of pull. Neither rifle comes with iron sights and a scope must be installed.
All said and done, if you want to hunt with one of these guns at and beyond 50-yards, the S10 blizzard is probably the way to go. Under 50-yards and the Marauder hits the price/performance sweet spot.
Comments appreciated - I am still trying to decide which one to get.
One initial story I heard is that one person had to go through two S10 Blizzards, with a call to Pyramid on the third to get one where all of the screws wre tightened properly. Once the third one arrived however, nothing but great comments as to its power and accuracy.
