bookdoc,
I've had a Sightron 6-24 AO on my .223 for about 8 years now and love it. Thinking of getting another in 3-12 AO, so I'd update this thread with what I just found out.
I just had a nice talk this morning with a tech at Sightron in NC.
Yes, all their scopes will hold up to springer use. Even lists air rifles as one of the recommended uses in their site info. He said they have two springers there they have tested with.
When I specifically asked about it, he said using any of their scopes on a springer will not void Sightron's life-time warrentee. He added that if a Sightron breaks, just send it to them and they will take care of it.
He said the only limitation is their non-AO scopes are set parralex free at 100 yards. For close shots with airguns he said the image will most likely be a bit blurry. However, he recommends using any of their many models of front, or side AO scopes, which will focus down to 10 yards.
Think I'll try my Sightron 6-24 on the Whisper and see what differance it makes.
Paul.
