I got her scoped today and was testing her out for a bit.  Boy, this gun shoots waaaay better than I can.  The trigger took a bit of getting used to.  I don't feel a second stage and it's much lighter than a GRT-III which I'm used to.  She packs a super punch too and is pretty darn loud.  Mike mentioned some pretty high velocities clocked with this power tuned QB and he was right on.  It doesn't have any recoil at all but the end result is a punch not unlike my .22 Panther.  I'm going clear through beer bottle caps at 30 yards with predators.  At 20 yards she shot quarter sized groups with Crosman Domes, was all over the place with RWS Superdomes but does dime sized groups with Predators.  This surprised me a bit since none of my other guns like Predators at all.  What sucks is I only ordered 1 tin of them since none of my other guns liked them but I guess it's time to start putting another order together soon.  I haven't counted but I'm estimating around 30 full powered shots (2 powerlets), which sounds about right with a power tune (around 15 shots per).  I also caught myself grabbing the barrel a few times to break it open (so used to springers).  This has already become one of my favorites; I'm glad I went to MM for this rifle...

Congrats on the new MM QB.  I have two of em,,, a .177 and a .22 ,, fantastic guns and MM does fantastic job tuning them.

With my .177 I'm getting an average of about 30 full power shots with 2 powerlets and the last chrony tests showed her averaging 803 FPS.

Best of luck with the new shooter.....

First post here...been lurking for awhile now, but finally feel compelled to add my two cents.

This forum led me to Mike Melick a few months ago, which resulted in my purchasing two .22 QB-78s (one for a friend) and a .22 B-26. They exceeded my expectations in every way, and are an absolute pleasure to shoot. I recently added one of Mike's new carbon fiber shrouds to my QB with excellent results.

Mike is truly a craftsman, and a great guy to do business with. Thanks Mike!

Welcome to the GTA, Roy.  You started off with a couple of good choices for air rifles.  But watch out now, as your expectations will be even higher for your next one and your next one and your next one . . .   Just always remember, you can stop any time you want.

Thanks TC!
It has already begun...
I had some early experience with a Crosman 2250 and a friend's Gamo, both in stock form, before ordering from Mike. He has raised the bar considerably for me :-).

Send us a picture of the shrouded QB78.  Haven't seen one, yet.

I'm curious about that as well.  I didn't know Mike made shrouds for them and if he does I won't hesitate to order one from him right away...

I believe I am the first to receive one of Mike's shrouds. Mine came as a kit which included a 3/4" diameter, 12 inch carbon fiber tube, two plastic spacers, and an end/muzzle piece. The whole assembly installs by friction..no screws.

I am trying to figure out how to post a photo. Meanwhile, Mike has just announced the shroud on his website, and will, hopefully, jump in here.

QB-78 shrouds.........

nothing fancy, just a carbon fiber tube with a woven pattern on the outside with two friction fit spacers and an end plug with a 7mm or 6mm hole for the pellet to escape from, they do make the rifle seem like it's lost some power do to the reduced recoil from the gas passage back into the shroud.....makes them easier to shoot accurately......

Mike, do you make a shroud that would fit a 1322 Crosman? I've got one on order from Mountain Air right now, and am looking for a shroud similar to what you describe. 3/4" OD, about 6" in length. Ideally I'd like to have more than a couple inches of overhang off the 4" of barrel forward of the band, but it's a "six of one and a half dozen of the other" deal. I don't want an obscenely long barrel length appearance, but neither do I want to cut the barrel down and lose velocity. If you do make 'em, what would you charge?

 Thanks,
