I can't wait that long for a R-10.  I think I'am more confused now on what to buy than when I started.  Does anybody own any of the Daystate rifle's?  Performance?

Paul,  I'm thinking at this point, I would likely be very happy with any of those PCP's as I do not have any PCP experience at all.   The more I read the more I doubt what I want.  As I believe any of those I will be extremely happy with, I'm only going to wait till Tuesday next week to see what is going on with the R-10.  And at that point I will basically flip a coin to choose either the Cyclone or the AA S410.  Unless by chance there will be a short term wait for the R-10... I'm putting a premium on the quietness, rather than power.  I know daystate has some models that are in the 30, 50 and 70 ft lbs.  But I feel like they are not going to be a quiet as the other choices being they have soooo much power.  But I could be totally wrong.

Do some searchs on the yellow forum with those specific model names in the search bar.  You will have LOTS of reading.  I spend a couple of days reading about cyclones, s410 and super10.  That is how I found out about the r-10.  Good Luck!

Lemme make it harder still....
30 minutes ago, casual plinking, 3 shots each, full power, off kitchen table** at measured/staked distances, as it got too dark to see.

Johnny - I called Steve from AOA (owner) and talked a while about my decision making in choosing the correct gun for me.  Told him my limit was $1400 give or take for gun only and not support for it.  Like you quiet was at the top of list.  We went through a bunch of scenarios about what exactly I wanted.  Hunting, powerful above 30ft/lbs, highly accurate at beyond 50 yards, single shot ok, pressure gauge built in, easy to fill with lots of shots and variable power, traditional walnut or beech and good quality.
He said, first off you don't need variable power because most of his customers use high power most of the time.  That's why your buying it.  So that brings in a whole lot more scenarios for choosing guns.  Daystate Air Wolf or Air Ranger, but out of my price range.  He thought the perfect gun for me was the (are you ready) Scorpion by BSA Scorpion.  34ft/lbs, dead accurate and the most quiet gun out of the box.  You could shoot in a church and no one would know.  Shot count down a little, 30 shots per fill.
Now his brother is in Florida now attending a air gun show.  He thinks that when he returns Tuesday he will put some Daystates in the used section.  To call him and strike a deal for a Daystate.
So that's where I'am now.

Wrong grasshoppa....

I use all three all the time.  In fact I use high power much *less* than low and medium power.  And the while the high power is incredibly quiet (especially compared to just about any springer at 1/2 the fpe), the medium and low power are so quiet that my wife can't hear anything but the slap as the pellet hits the Duct Seal.

(You really need to see if you can find someone near you w/ the rifles to try out if at all possible. )

MEHavey - Wish you wouldn't do that to Johnny or myself.  Now be honest.  Is it quiet enough to shoot in a back yard?

I would not DARE shoot my R1 or 460 in the yard with my current neighbors.

By contrast, they'd never even know the FX had gone off unless they saw me.
I was amazed.

I looked on AOA site and man that walnut stock on that Cyclone is great looking.  Is it worth another $200 above the beech stock?  Depends on you I guess.

I got the synthetic stock -- deliberately so.  It is the only rifle (and I gots lots of them) I have ever decided to equip that way.  (Well `cepting maybe my Colt HBAR.)

Even so, I was (very) pleasantly surprised at how right that decision was when I actually had it in my hands.
(1) It makes for a very light rifle. ...`very light.   So much so that my RWS 460 feels truly HEAVY, and the SuperStreak feels like I'm lifting up a footlocker.
(2) It's truly first quality -- even to the point having soft/suede-like panels on each side of the forearm.  It really makes a difference in how the gun "feels."
(3) It doesn't get damaged (I supposed you could beat it to death over concrete cinder block) and it never changes zero -- ever.

Other than this, I have no opinion.

I just bought a BSA Scorpion T10 Bull Barrel. It' a beautiful gun. The pictures don't do the gun justice. Even my wife who does not like guns said, "What a beautiful gun!", as I was taking it out of the box. I got it two weeks ago, but had to wait until yesterday for all the accessories to come. Scope, scope mounts, scuba tank, yoke and hose. Today was the first time I got some real shooting in. It was 18 degrees outside so I only shot 50 shots, but got some real close groups at twenty yards. I can tell I am going to be happy with this gun. It's powerful and very quiet. The noise comes from hitting the target. AoA tested the gun before it was sent out. With Crossman Premiers 14.3 gr, the average velocity was 952 fps. Exactly what I wanted. Fast, but not to fast for accuracy. I'm using JSB Jumbo Exacts 14.3 gr. Seems very accurate, nickel size groups of ten with me standing,  leaning against a door jamb. It was only twenty yards, but still pretty good considering how cold it was. I got a 100 cf Sherman Scuba tank and a BSA 6x24 40 mm scope. With shipping I spent about $1500.00. I'm happy. The gun is beautiful, accurate, well balanced, the checkering on the stock feels great and looks good and the trigger is smooth and crisp. I will try so attach a picture. I never did that before on this forum, so I hope what I do will work.

The man speaks truth.  Hear him! The FX is really "cushy" to hold and just feels nice.  Those inserts feel like suede (or maybe like the late Riccardo Montalbono used to say - fine Corrinthina leather?).  Both the FX and the AA S410 are oh so quiet  --  pfffftt!  And you can drop an intruder squirrel dead in his tracks without even disturbing the birds at the feeder, much less the neighbors.  And you WILL shoot more at lower power than full power.  You can shoot much cheaper pellets (CP's, FTS, JSBs) than the "heavies" as least by the prices I see.  And you will be able to get many more shots per fill at low and medium power than at full power.  30 FPE is awesome when you really need it, but just wasteful and a bit noisier when you don't.
