Who's waiting on a Marauder? and why?
« on: April 29, 2009, 01:35:34 AM »
Hi,

I put in an order with Pyramid, just before the 22nd.

I wanted a multi for hunting but I didn't want to spend a million dollars for it.  I actually sold off my Koric regulated and moderated Daystate to get it. I ordered mine in .177 so I could use it in Hunter field target as well. I really like that it's supposed to be quite, and the adjustable fill pressure and power.  If these turn out to be shooters it's going to crush the market for everything else.

I've been doing a lot of clearing out of stuff at the house and I am not sure I can justify it but I may get one in .22 as well.   I'll likely wait and see if there's second generation upgrade for this.

I am waiting, because it isn't here yet....

It'll be first PCP for me. It's American made and it's shrouded. The buzz on the new barrel was good. Price was (choke) right, for a hunting PCP. Until I factor in the scope and tanks, but that's the cost of doing business. Part of my justification was actually congratulating an American company for taking a risk, but really that just helped my justify the expenditure.

1. Its multi-shot.
2. Its made in America.
3. The price is right!

Can anyone tell if a pump is included just like the Disco?

So will the Disco pump work or do we need to get the ones like FX and Hills.
I am new to PCPs, is there a difference between the Disco pump and the others?

Your Disco pump will work on your Marauder   as it has the exact same quick connect fitting.....  :)

The Disco pump will work, so will any other PCP pump. The Marauder, like the Disco uses a Foster male fitting on the end of the reservoir. I would recommend a higher quality pump, like a Hill or FX pump.

...CFX Marauder, not to say he's the devil but he let me shoot his Talon SS and B-51.  That's all it took to push me over the edge to the dark side!!!  My first PCP with multiple shot magazine, barrel shroud, great looking ambidextrous stock, made in America...What more could you ask for?

I think I got #94 on the list.

I wanted something a little bit quieter than my Sumatra 2500R and a little bit more powerful than my B21 and RS2 in 22 cal.  Yeah I know a could have just gotten a LDC for the Sumatra :)   and run the power level lower.

I'm waiting for PA to get some in, and to hear some reviews from the fine folks here. I really like the fact that it's made here in the US. I also like the ambi stock, multi shot configuration, and shrouded barrel.

It would be interesting to know if there are any box content or aesthetic differences between the first 100 guns from Crosman and the rest.

A couple of postings on the Air Gun Gate have mentioned a letter from Crosman in the box congratulating the owners on having one of the first 100 Marauders.  And the reported serial numbers so far have been in the expected range (1 to 100).

I canceled my Pyramid Air order and reordered from a local shop.  They were letting it go for $475, so it's worth checking on if you have a good local store.

I'd rather give the business to a local guy and also have someone I can just drive over to if there's a warranty issue.

I have one in .177 in route right now. When it gets here I'll chrony it in the garage, the R9 is no biggy for sound in the garage but the disco is alarming.
